DOC for red and white wines in the wine-growing region of Emilia-Romagna in Italy. The zone includes the provincial capital of Rimini, from which the name is taken, as well as 18 other communes in the province of Rimini. Varietal-labelled wines such as Biancame (Trebbiano variety), Cabernet Sauvignon (also made as a Riserva) and Rebola (this last wine also made in Secco, Amabile and Dolce styles, as well as Passito) must consist of a minimum of 85% of the stated variety, the remainder may be made up of other permitted varieties of the same colour. Dry Bianco is a blend of Trebbiano Romagnolo (50-70%), Biancame and/or Mostosa (30-50%), as well as optionally of other permitted white varieties (up to 20%). Dry Rosso is a blend of Sangiovese (60-75%), Cabernet Sauvignon (15-25%), as well as optionally any combination of Ancellotta, Barbera, Ciliegiolo, Merlot and Montepulciano (up to 25%).
