DOC for red and white wines in the wine-growing region of Emilia-Romagna in Italy. The zone includes the communes of Calestano, Collecchio, Felino, Fidenza, Fornovo di Taro, Langhirano, Lesignano de´Bagni, Medesano, Noceto, Sala Baganza, Salsomaggiore Terme, Terenzo, Traversatolo and Varano de´Melegari in the hilly areas of the province of Parma. Varietal-labelled Malvasia (in Secco, Asciutto and Amabile styles) must contain 85% of the stated variety, Sauvignonlabeleld as such must contain 100% of the variety, Frizzante and Spumante versions of both are available. Dry Rosso (also made as a Frizzante) is a blend of Barbera (60-75%), Bonarda Piemontese and/or Croatina (25-40%), as well as optionally of other permitted red varieties (up to 15%).
