Latium

DOC for red, rosé and white wines in the Latium wine-growing region in Italy. The extensive zone includes parts of 25 communes in the bordering areas of the two provinces Rieti and Roma. The Bianco is a blend made from Trebbiano Toscano and/or Trebbiano Giallo (40-60%), Malvasia del Lazio and/or Malvasia di Candia (40-60%), as well as optionally from other permitted white varieties (up to 20%). Rosso (also made as a Novello) and Rosato are made from Sangiovese (40-70%), Montepulciano (15-40%), as well as optionally from other permitted red varieties (up to 30%). The wines are made in Secco, Amabile and Dolce styles, and are also available in Frizzante and Spumante versions.
