Latium

DOC for white wine in the Latium wine-growing region in Italy. The zone has a total vineyard area of around 1.700 hectares and is part of the large Castelli Romani region (in the south-western part). It includes the communes of Genzano and Lanuvio close to Lake Nemi in the province of Roma. The famous Via Appia Antica runs through the region. The wine is made from Trebbiano Toscano and/or Trebbiano Verde and/or Trebbiano Giallo (30-100%), Malvasia Bianca di Candia and Malvasia Puntinata (up to 70%), as well as optionally from other permitted white varieties (up to 10%). It is produced in Secco and Amabile styles.
