DOC classified region for white wine in the wine-growing region of Liguria in Italy. The zone covers a total vineyard area of around 140 hectares, spread over the communes of Monterosso al Mare, Riomaggiore, La Spezia (partly) and Vernazza in the province of La Spezia. The vineyards are located on steep terraced slopes above the Gulf of Genoa. The wine is dry, and is produced from Bosco (40-100%), Albarola and/or Vermentino (maximum 40%), as well as from other permitted white varieties (maximum 20%). The same varieties are used to produce the off-dry to sweet „Cinqueterre Sciacchetrà“, made from raisined grapes. A Riserva version of this wine is also available. Wines made exclusively from grapes sourced from the sub-zones of Costa da Posa, Costa de Campu and Costa de Sera (all within the commune of Riomaggiore) are permitted to state the name on the label.
