Sardinia

DOC for red and rosé wines in the south-west corner of the island of Sardinia off the Italian coasts. The zone includes the communes of Calasetta, Carbonia, Carloforte, Giba, Masainas, Narcao, Nuxis, Perdaxius, Piscinas, Portoscuso, San Giovanni Suergiu, Santadi, Sant´Anna Arresi, Sant´Antioco, Teulada, Tratalias and Villaperuccio in the province of Cagliari. The dry red and rosato wines are made from Carignano = Carignan (85-100%), as well as possibly from other permitted red varieties. The Rosso is also available in several variants: Novello, Riserva, Superiore and sweet Passito.
