The „Cantine Ascheri Giacomo” estate is located in the centre of the town of Brà in Cuneo province in the Piemont wine-growing region in Italy. It was founded in 1880, and ist still owned by the family. It is currently run by Matteo Ascheri, assisted by oenologist Giuliano Baghino and agronomist Edoardo Monticelli. The „Osteria Murivecchi” restaurant as well as a hotel are also provided. The vineyard area totals 28 hextares in the heart of the Barolo region, around the towns of La Morra and Serralunga d´Alba. A wide range of DOC and DOCG wines is produced. These include Barbera d´Alba (Fontanelle), Barolo (Sorano, Sorano Coste & Bricco, Vigna dei Pola), Dolcetto d´Alba (Vigna Nirane, Vigna San Rocco), Langhe, Nebbiolo d´Alba (Bricco San Giacomo) and Roero (Arneis Christina Ascheri). Depending on the location of the vineyards, the wines are made in one of three estates, Montalupa (Brà), Rivalta (La Morra) and Sirano (Serralunga). The wines are matured in large oak barrels, not in barriques. Annual production is around 300.000 bottles of wine. Grappa is also produced.
