DOC for a wide range of dry red, rosé and white wines in the Piemonte wine-growing region in Italy. The zone has a total vineyard area of 1.800 hectares and includes 100 communes in the province of Torino, six communes in the province of Biella (Cavaglia, Dorzano, Roppolo, Salussola, Viverone and Zimone) as well as the commune of Moncrivello in the province of Vercelli. The white wine is a pure varietal made from Erbaluce. Rosso (aalso made as a Novello) and Rosato wines are blended from any of the following varieties: Barbera, Bonarda, Freisa, Neretto and Nebbiolo (60-100%), as well as possibly also from other permitted red varieties (up to 40%). Varietal-labelled Barbera and Nebbiolo are made from the stated variety (85-100%), as well as possibly from other permitted red varieties (up to 15%).
