Sardinia

DOC (also referred to simply as Terralba) for dry red wine on the isalnd of Sardinia off the Italian coast. The name is taken from the Campidano trench. The zone includes the communes of Arbus, Collinas, Gonnosfanadiga, Guspini, Pabillonis, San Gavino Monreale, Sardara and Villanovaforru in the province of Cagliari, as well as the communes of Baressa, Gonnoscodina, Gonnostramatza, Marrubiu, Masullas, Mogoro, Morgongiori, Palmas Arborea, Pompu, San Nicolo d´Arcidano, Santa Giusta, Simala, Siris, Terralba (from whence the name) and Uras in the province of Oristano. The wine is a blend of Bovale Sardo and/or Bovale di Spagna (80-100%), as well as possibly Greco Nero and/or Monica and/or Pascale di Cagliari (up to 20%).
