Bramaterra DOC

DOC for dry red wine in the Piemonte region in Italy. The zone has a total vineyard area of 30 hectares on volcanic soils, and includes the communes of Brusnengo, Curino, Masserano, Sostegno and Villa del Bosco in the province of Biella, as well as the commune of Lozzolo in the province of Vercelli. The wine is a blend made from Chiavennasca = Nebbiolo (50-70%), Croatina (20-30%), as well as from Bonarda and/or Vespolina (10-20%). If matured for a minimum of three years, of which two years in barrel, it may be called Riserva.
