DOC for dry red wines in the Lombardy wine-growing region in Italy. The zone includes the three communes of Botticino, from which the name i staken, Rezzano and Brescia, all in the province of Brescia. The wine has a deep ruby colour, and is a blend of Barbera (30-60%), Berzemino = Marzemino (20-50%), Schiava Gentile Media and/or Schiava Gentile Grigia (10-40%), Sangiovese (10-40%) and possibly other permitted red varieties (up to 10%). If matured for two years or more, it may be called a Riserva.
