DOC for dry red wines in the wine-growing region of Piemonte in Italy, already classified in 1969. The zone has a total vineyard area of only 15 hectares, and includes the commune of Boca, from which it takes the name, as well as parts of the communes of Cavallirio, Grignasco, Maggiora and Prato Sesia on the left bank of the Sesia river in the province of Novara. The wine is a blend of Spanna = Nebbiolo (45-70%), Vespolina (20-40%) and Bonarda Novarese = Uva Rara (up to 20%). Well-known estates include Le Piane, Antonio Vallana and Poderi ai Valloni.
