Top wines in Domain Aversa DOC
DOC (also Asprinio di Aversa) for dry white wine in the Campania region in Italy. The zone includes the communes of Aversa, Carinaro, Casal di Principe, Casaluce, Casapesenna, Cesa, Frignano, Gricignano di Aversa, Lusciano, Orta di Atella, Parete, San Cipriano d´Aversa, San Marcellino, Sant Arpino, Succivo, Teverola, Trentola-Ducenta, Villa di Briano and Villa Literno in the province of Caserta, as well as the communes of Giugliano in Campania, Qualiano and Sant Antimo in the province of Naples. A special feature here is that wine growers are permitted to use the traditional trellising form „Alberate aversana“. Trees are used as supports, and the vines trained vertically on these. The aim is to retain this traditional cultural heritage as a feature of the landscape. Wines sourced from such vineyards must beart he designation „Alberata“ or „Vigneti ad alberata“ on the label. The wine is made from the Asprinio Bianco variety (85-100%), and may contain certain other permitted varieties (up to 15%). The Spumante is a straight varietal Asprinio Bianco.
