Veneto

DOC for a wide range of red and white wines, located in the Veneto region in Italy. The zone includes the town of Arcola, from whence the name, as well as another 15 communes in the provinces of Verona and Vicenza. The varietal wines must contain at least 85% of the stated variety, the remainder can be made up of permitted varieties of the same colour. The varietal wines are Cabernet (Cabernet Franc and/or Cabernet Sauvignon and/or Carmenère), Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Garganega, Merlot, Pinot Bianco and Pinot Grigio. The Bianco is made from Garganega (minimum of 50%), as well as alternatively blended with Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco and Pinot Grigio. The Rosso is made from Merlot (minimum of 50%), and may contain Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère for the rest of the blend.
