Top wines in Domain Alghero DOC

DOC for a wide range of red, rosé and white wines, located in the north-east corner of the island and wine-growing region of Sardinia, off the coast of Italy. The zone includes the commune of Alghero, from which the name is taken, as well as the communes of Ittiri, Olmedo, Ossi, Tissi, Uri and Usini in the province of Sassari. The Sella-Mosca estate, the largest in Sardinia, has its headquarters at Alghero. Varietal wines must contain at least 85% of the stated variety, the remainder can be made up of permitted varieties of the same colour. The following types are available: Cabernet (Cabernet Franc and/or Cabernet Sauvignon and/or Carmenère), Cagnulari or Cagniulari, Chardonnay, Sangiovese, Sauvignon, Torbato and Vermentino. Bianco, rosso (also as Novello, Liquoroso and Liquoroso Riserva) and rosato are made from any combination of the permitted varieties. All these wines can also be made in frizzante, spumante and passito versions, in most cases these are available in secco style, but often also as amabile and dolce.
