Alezio DOC

DOC for dry red and rosÃ© wines in the region of Apulia in Italy. The zone includes areas around the communes of Alezio, Gallipolli, Sannicola and Tuglie in the Lecce province. Rosso and Rosato are made from Negroamaro (80-100%), producers may choose to add Malvasia Nera di Lecce, Montepulciano and Sangiovese (up to 20% of a blend). A Rosso that has at least 12,5% vol alcohol and has been matured for two years may be called Riserva.
