  Aleatico di Puglia DOC

DOC for sweet red wine in the Apulia region in Italy. The zone includes all five provinces in Apulia, with a total of 258 communes. However, the wine is produced primarily in the DOC zone Gioia del Colle (there are efforts underway to limit the DOC to this area). The wine is made from the Aleatico grape variety (85-100%), as well as from Negroamaro and/or Malvasia Nera and/or Primitivo (up to 15%). Three variants are available, Dolce Naturale, Liquoroso and Liquoroso Dolce Naturale. Given three years of maturation it may be called Riserva.
