The DOC´s Aglianico del Taburno and Taburno are used for white, rosé and red wines produced in the Campania region in Italy. The zone includes parts of the communes of Apollosa, Benevento, Bonea, Campoli del Monte Taburno, Castelpoto, Cautano, Foglianise, Montesarchio, Paupisi, Ponte, Tocco Caudio, Torrecuso and Vitulano in the province of Benevento. Aglianico del Taburno Rosso and Aglianico del Taburno Rosato are made from Aglianico grapes (85-100%), as well as from other permitted red varieties (up to 15%). If it has an alcoholic strength of at least 12,5% vol., and has been matured for three years, it may be called Rosso Riserva. Other wines bearing the „Taburno“ designation are made in the same region. The Taburno Bianco is made from Trebbiano Toscano (40-50%), Falanghina (30-40%), as well as from other permitted white varieties. The Taburno Rosso (also as a Novello) is produced from Sangiovese (40-50%), Aglianico (30-40%), as well as from other permitted red varieties. The varietal wines Taburno Coda di Volpe, Taburno Falanghina, Taburno Greco und Taburno Piedirosso must contain at least 85% of the stated variety, the remaining 15% can be made up of permitted varieties of the same colour. Taburno Spumante is made from Coda di Volpe and/or Falanghina (60-70%), as well as from other permitted white varieties (up to 40%).
