Appellation in the Macedonia wine-growing region in Greece, named after the city of the same name. The vineyard area totals around 180 hectares. The dry OPAP red wine has a long maturation potential, and is a blend made from the indigenous varieties Xynomavro and Negoska (minimum of 20%). The wine is only marketed in the third year after the harvest. The best-known producers are Aidarinis, Boutari, Ktima Tatsis, Ligas and Titos.
