This estate was founded by Dijon graduate George Skouras in the commune of Pyrghela, close to the city of Argos, on the Peloponnes island in Greece in 1986. He had previously worked at various wineries as an oenologist. Initially, annual production there was 6.000 bottles of wine. In 1996, a second cellar was built in Gymno in the Nemea appelation. The newly built main site in Maladrenig, south-east of Nemea, was commissioned in 2003, and the previous site at Pyrghela was given up. The vineyards there are located 700 metres above sea level. The area is planted with the main variety Agiorgitiko as well as with Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Moscophilero, Roditis and Viognier. The premium wines are the Megas Oenos red (Cabernet Sauvignon, Agiorgitiko), Megas Oenos white (Moschophilero), Cuvée Prestige (Roditis, Moscophilero), Nemea Agiorgitiko, Nemea Grande Cuvée (Agiorgitiko) and Viognier Eclectique. Annual production is aorund 750.000 bottles of wine, of which half is exported (240.000 to Germany).
