The estate is located in the commune of Kernen (Remstal-Stuttgart area) in the Württemberg wine-growing region in Germany. Hans Haidle took over the business from his father in the 1970’s, and expanded it from one hectare of vineyards to its present size. A new cellar was commmicioned in 1993. The best vineyard parcels of the estate are to be found in the central, partly terraced section of the Stettener Pulvermächer site, which rises up directly behind the winery buildings. The vineyard area totals 19 hectares, with holdings in the following vineyard sites: Häder, Lindhälder, Mönchberg and Pulvermächer (in Stetten), Altenberg, Burghalde and Sonnenberg (in Schnait), Nonnenberg (in Strümpfelbach) and Wanne (in Großheppach). Grape varieties planted are Riesling (7,3 ha), Trollinger (2,6 ha), Kerner (1,6 ha), Pinot Noir (1,5 ha), Lemberger (1,4 ha) and others. The best Lemberger, Pinot Noir and Dornfelder wines are matured in barriques made from a combination of French, Swabian and Spessart oak. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. The estate is a member of the VDP (Verband deutscher Prädikats- und Qualitäts-Weingüter) association as well as of the Deutsches Barrique-Forum.
