| The estate is located in the commune of Horrweiler (Bingen district) in the Rheinhessen wine-growing region in Germany. It has been owned by the same family since 1848. In 1960, Ernst and Gudrun Doll took over a mixed farming enterprise, and changed it over to wine production, and marketing of estate-bottled wines. The vineyard area totals eight hectares, with holdings in the Gewürzgärtchen and Goldberg (Horrweiler) sites. 75% of the area is planted with the following white varieties: Riesling, Silvaner, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Scheurebe, Müller-Thurgau and Kerner, the remaining 25% is planted with the following red varieties: Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, Portugieser and St. Laurent bestockt. Sustainable vineyard practices are implemented. Most of the wines are fermented dry, although some are also made in sweet, fruity versions. Wines of exceptionally high quality are bottled separately, and marketed under the „Prestige“ label.
