| The estate is located in the small town of Langenlonsheim in the Nahe wine-growing region in Germany. The family has been involved in wine production since 1723. The estate has been run by Dr. Martin Tesch since 1996. While studying biology, he discovered his interest in all kinds of fermentation processes. Research work in the fields of wine production, beer brewing and the manufacture of antibiotics made him an expert on any topic related to yeasts and fermentation. He is one of the few German winemakers to be able to perfectly control malo-lactic fermentation in Riesling, a controversial matter. The vineyard area totals 19 hectares, with holdings in the following communes: Langenlonsheim (Königsschild, Löhrer Berg and Rothenberg) and Laubenheim (Karthäuser, Krone, St. Remigiusberg). The area is mainly planted with Riesling (15 ha), as well as with Pinot Blanc (1,6 ha ), Pinot Noir (1,4 ha) and Silvaner (0,6 ha). Since the 2002 vintage, the five vineyard sites have been marketed with different capsule colours. The latest creation is an „Unplugged” Riesling Kabinett. Sweet botrytis dessert wines such as Eiswein are also produced. The estate is a member of the VDP (Verband deutscher Prädikats- und Qualitäts-Weingüter) association.
