The estate is located in the commune of Remshalden-Grunbach (Remstal-Stuttgart district) in the Württemberg wine-growing region in Germany. It is owned by Dorothee Wagner-Ellwanger and Andreas Ellwanger, the name of the estate is a contraction of their first names. The vineyard area totals five hectares, of which 2.5 hectares have been leased to the Jürgen Ellwanger estate. Fruit from two hectares of orchards is processed in the estate’s own distillery. The vineyard area worked by the estate is located in the Berghalde and Klingle (Grunbach) vineyard sites, and is planted with Riesling, Trollinger and Merlot. Since 2008, all of the vineyards have been worked organically in accordance with the guidelines of the ECOVIN association. The following ranges are produced: Ballade (light and lively), Symphonie (made from the best grapes and from the best vineyard sites, mostly dry, and matured in barrique) and Oper (high-quality Prädikat wines right up to ice wine level). In addition, bottle-fermented sparkling wines, liqueurs and spirits (fruit and berry-based, grappa-style) are also produced.
