The estate is located in the town of Zwingenberg in the Hessische Bergstraße wine-growing region in Germany. It was taken over by Kurt Simon and Wilfried Bürkle in 1991, they had met as students at the oenological college at Weinsberg (Baden-Württemberg). Since the death of Kurt Simon in 2003, the estate has been run by Dagmar Simon and Wilfried Bürkle. The vineyard area totals 12 hectares, with holdings in Zwingenberg (Alte Burg, Steingeröll) and Auerbach (Fürstenlager, Höllberg, Rott). 40% of the area is planted with the main variety Riesling (4,2 ha), as well as with Silvaner (1 ha), Pinot Gris (1 ha),Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Scheurebe and St. Laurent bestockt. Rosé wines, perlé wines, bottle-fermented sparkling wines and spirits are also produced. The estate is a member of the Pro Riesling association.
