Baden

The Badische Bergstrasse is a stretch located between Heidelberg and Hemsbach, and is a part of Baden only in the political sense. Its similarities with the Hessische Bergstrasse, on the other hand, are quickly obvious, both in a climatic and in a topographical sense. At the same time, this is a southerly area in which the Burgundian varieties are already gradually of greater importance than Riesling. As in the neighbouring Hessische Bergstrasse, not many quality-conscious producers are currently to be found in this sub-region. An exception is the Seeger estate in Leimen, which manages to impress by fairly regularly producing good and even excellent wines.
