Top wines in Domain Valencay AOVDQS
Appellation located in the south-west of the AC Touraine in the Loire wine-growing region in France. This was formerly a VDQS region, with a vineyard area twice as large. Classification as an AC was granted in 2004. Since then the AC has included 14 communes with a total vineyard area of 150 hectares, located on the Cher river, a tributary of the Loire. Red wine and rosé are blends made from Gamay Noir (minimum of 30, maximum of 60%), Pinot Noir and Côt = Malbec (minimum of 10% of each), as well as optionally from Cabernet Franc and (only if used before 2004) Cabernet Sauvignon. For the rosé, Pineau d´Aunis (maximum of 30%) is additionally permitted. The white wine is made from Sauvignon Blanc (minimum of 70%), as well as from Arbois Blanc and Chardonnay.
