Small appellation named after the town of the same name, located in the north of the wine-growing region of Savoie in France, above the Lac de Bourget (largest lake in France). The vineyard area totals around 100 hectares, located on steep slopes on the upper Rhône river. The white wine is a straight varietal wine made from Roussette (Altesse). The AC Seyssel Mousseux applies to bottle-fermented sparkling wines made from Molette, Chasselas and a minimum of 10% of Roussette. Well-known producers include Maison Mollex and Clos de la Péclette.
