Regional appellation in the Savoie wine-growing region in France. Four communes are allowed to append their name on the label: Frangy, Marestel (or Marestel-Altesse), Monterminod and Monthoux. According to new regulations that came into effect in 1998, the dry wine must be a varietal made from Roussette (known here as Altesse) (previously, Mondeuse Blanche and Chardonnay were permitted). Well-known producers include Domaine Dupasquier, Michel Gisard, La Cave du Prieure and Domaine de la Violette.
