Appellation in the Côte de Beaune section of the Côte d’Or in Burgundy in France. It is named after the commune of the same name, the total vineyard area is around 120 hectares, it borders on the commune of Meursault. By far the majority of wines produced are red, they are made from Pinot Noir with permitted small shares of Pinot Gris and Pinot Liébault), small amounts of white wine are made from Chadonnay, with permitted small portions of Pinot Blanc. An alternative AC exclusively for red wines is Monthélie-Côte de Beaune. The Premiers Crus have a total area of 30 hectares, the most important of these are Cas Rougeot, Champs Fulliot, Duresses, Meix-Bataille, Sur la Velle, Taupine and Vignes Rondes.
