Bordeaux

One of the four communes (apart from Lussac, Puisseguin and Saint-Georges) located just outside the AC Saint-Émilion (Bordeaux) in France, immediately to the north of the Barbanne river. These four communes may add the name of the commune to that of the AC on the label, in this case Montagne-Saint-Émilion. In fact, the commune of Saint-Georges may also use this name, as an alternative to that of its own. The red wines are blends of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, and are similar to the wines of Saint-Émilion. The best-known wine estates are Château Calon, Château Faizeau, Château Maison-Blanche, Château Montaiguillon, Château Roudier, Château Rocher Corbin, Château Teyssier and Château des Tours.
