Communal appellation in the Côte Chalonnaise section of Burgundy in France, the vineyard area totals around 100 hectares, it includes the communes of Bourgneuf-Val-d´Or, Mercurey and Saint-Martin-sous-Montaigu. 90% of the wines produced are long-lived red wines made from Pinot Noir, though Pinot Gris and Pinot Liébault are also permitted, the white wines are made from Chardonnay, and here the inclusion of Pinot Blanc is also permitted. There are around 30 Premiers Crus sites, the most important of these are Bondue, Byots, Cailloute, Champs Martin, Clos Château de Montaigu, Fourneaux, Levrière, Marcilly, Mission, Montaigus, Naugues, Petits Voyens, Ruelles and Vasées. Important producers include Bichot (Domaine Adélie), Brintet, Chandesais, Émile Juillot, Narjoux and Raquillet.
