Top wines in District Julienas AOC

One of the ten Cru vineyard site in Beaujolais in France, the appellation includes the communes of Juliénas, Jullié, Meringes and Pruzilly. The first two were founded in the days of Julius Caesar, and are reputedly named after him. The vineyard area totals 600 hectares, located on deep volcanic soils with a very high clay content, the wines are made from Gamay Noir. The robust wines need three of four years to develop their potential.
