Regional appellation applicable for crémant wines (sparkling wines made in accordance with the methode champenoise), produced from the traditional Burgundian varieties. It replaces the previous designation „Bourgogne Mousseux“. The varieties used are principally (white) Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Aligoté, as well as (red) Pinot Noir and Gamay. Most of the wines produced are white wines, with a small share of rosé wines. Most of the base wines are sourced from the Rully appellation.
