Jura

The appellation includes vineyards in the entire Jura wine-growing region in France. The vineyard area totals 650 hectares, and are located in around 60 communes. Among the best-known are Arlay, Gevingey, Le Vernois, Poligny, Rotalier and Voiteur. The red wine is a blend of Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir. The rosé is made from Poulsard, Trousseau, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Savagnin and Chardonnay. The white wine is made from Savagnin Blanc and Chardonnay. The AC Côtes du Jura Mousseux applies to sparkling wines made from Savagnin, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. The AC Côtes du Jura Vin de Paille applies to sweet wines (vin de paille) made from Poulsard, Trousseau, Savagnin and Chardonnay. The AC Côtes du Jura Vin Jaune applies to vin jaune made from Savagnin. Well-known producers include Château d´Arlay, Domaine Berthet-Bondet, Daniel et Pascal Chalanard, Gabriel Clerc, Jacques Foret, Domaine Grand Frères, Domaine Labet, Domaone Jean Macle, Domaine Morel –Thibaut, Domaine Rolet, Domaine des Roussots and André et Mireille Tissot.
