This small appellation lies as an enclave within the Anjou area in the Loire wine-growing region in France. It is named after the small river Aubance, along which the slate-covered vineyard slopes are located. The sweet white wine is made from fully ripe grapes, which are picked in several passages through the vineyards. A small amount of sweet botrytis wines is also produced. Well-known producers include Domaine de Bablut, Domaine Victor Lebreton and Domaine des Rochelles.
