Appellation in the southern section of the Rhône wine-growing region in France. It is sometimes considered to be already a part of Provence. The vineyard area totals around 450 hectares, in 42 communes located on the right bank of the Durance river, in the vicinity of the towns of Forcalquier, Manosque and Peyruis in the département Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. Red wine and rosé are blends made from Carignan, Cinsaut, Grenache Noir, Mourvèdre, Oeillade, Syrah and Terret Noir. White wine is made from Clairette, Marsanne, Picpoul, Roussanne and Ugni Blanc.
