Loire

This communal appellation lies to the north of the Touraine area in the Loire wine-growing region in France. The vineyard area totals just on 100 hectares, these are located on the right bank of the Loir river. The red wine is a blend made from Pineau d´Aunis (minimum of 30%), Gamay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The rosé is made from Pineau d´Aunis, Cabernet Franc, Gamay, Malbec and up to 25% of Grolleau. The white wine is a varietal Chenin Blanc. Well-known producers include Chaussard, Fresneau, Gigou, Robinot and Rycke. In the north of the area is an enclave, the appellation Jasnières.
