One of the ten Cru vineyards of Beaujolais, it is named after the commune of the same name. The vineyard area totals 370 hectares, they are located on south-east facing slopes at an altitude of up to 480 metres above sea level, this makes them the highest in the region. The soils consist of porphyry and decomposed granite. The wines are characterised by noticeable acidity, but have less tannin than other Beaujolais wines, and should be drunk young.
