Top wines in Domain Brouilly AOC
The most southerly, and with a total vineyard area of 1.300 hectares largest of the ten Cru sites of Beaujolais (located to the south of Burgundy in France) includes the six communes of Ciercié, Charentay, Odenas, Quincié, Saint-Étienne-la-Varenne and Saint-Lager. The vineyards are located at the foot of the Mont Brouilly mountain, an extinct volcano 483 metres high. The soil structure is complex, going from granite in the west via slate in the centre to terraces with sandy alluvial soils in the east. The wines need three or four years to achieve their optimum drinking point. The Cru vineyard Côte-de-Brouilly is an enclave in the heart of the area.
