Burgundy

Communal appellation in Burgundy in France. The small commune is located between Chagny and Rully, the total vineyard area is 60 hectares. Most of this area is planted with the white variety Aligoté. In the past, this was part of the regional AC Bourgogne Aligoté, but was permitted as of 1979 to use its own designation „Bourgogne Aligoté Bouzeron“, as a result of the outstanding quality produced it was then given its own appellation in 1997. The white wine is a varietal wine made from Aligoté. Well-known producers include Domaine Carnot, Domaine Chanzy, André Lhéritier and A. & P. de Villaine. See also under Bourgogne.
