Regional appellationto the northwest of the Côte Chalonnaise district in Burgundy, classified in 2001. The vineyard area totals 20 hectares, spread over the six communes of Couches, Dracy-lès-Couches, Saint-Jean-de-Trézy, Saint-Maurice-lès-Couches, Saint-Pierre-de-Varennes and Saint-Sernin du Plain in the Saône-et-Loire departement.Both red and rosé wines made from Pinot Noir grapes are permitted.
