This is a small appellation with a vineyard area of 500 hectares located in the extreme east of the Bordeaux region, to the north of the AC Côtes de Castillon, in France. It was classified in 1967, making it one of the youngest appellations in Bordeaux. The AC is for red wines (made from Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon) and white wines (made from Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle). The best-known estates are Château de Francs, Château Laclaverie, Château La Prade, Château Marsau and Château Puygueraud.
