One of the vineyard sites in Alsace classified as a Grand Cru, located in the Haut-Rhin region, within the appellation Alsace Grand Cru. The site was first mentioned in a document dated 783, under the name of Sigolttesberg. The vineyard area totals 62 hectares on limestone and marl soils, located in the commune of Sigolsheim, to the north of Colmar. The site is considered to have the greatest exposure to sunshine in the whole of Alsace. The dominant variety planted here is Gewürztraminer, as well as Pinot Gris, Muscat and Riesling. Well-known producers include Gerard Fritsch, Ringenbach-Moser, Pierre Schillé et Fils, Pierre Sparr, Domaine Stirn and André Thomas.
