I gathered the gist of what you said, but thought that 'fractur' was just a mis-spelling of 'fracture', it's all clarified now. For anyone else reading this, and for general Riesling / Mosel information, I logged on to the 'Heymann Lowenstein' web site www.heymann-lowenstein.de and gained a great deal of useful and interesting information, together pictures of the Mosel vine yard (cliff). It certainly needs a good head for heights, to gather those grapes.
