hi jim

the winninger uhlen "spätlese" (last harvest) or "auslese" (selection) made
by
reinhold löwenstein belongs to the most exciting and exotic riesling wines
that i'd ever drunk. this wine comes from one of the most phenomenal
wineyards you can imagine.
this is not a wine-yard, but a wine-wall, only workable by circus-acrobates
or alpinists. whow! the wines are liquid honey mixed with exotic fruits.one
of the best wine criticists all over the world, michel bettane, from the
"revue du vin de france" meant that the wines made by reinhold would be the
best white wines he'd ever tasted.
the 2001 and 2002 are sold out. perhaps you can find some 2002 at gcs@pt.lu
or in germany, k&u, nürnberg. good luck.

robert

Hi David and others,
How I got myself into this 'forum' is puzzling, however I do find the
comments very interesting and informative.
Now that I have the chance to reach many wine enthusiasts, one of you may be
able to help me out.
I recently tasted a white wine with the labelled title of;
MOSEL SAAR RUWER
WINNINGER UHLEN ZINSLEFE.
I wouldn't bet on the last name being absolutely correct, however it is my
best interpretation of the very stylised writing on the bottle.
Reason I'm asking is that this wine was served at a small family gathering,
none of whom are wine 'buffs' and none except myself would claim to enjoy
wine specifically.
I quizzed the hostess who could not remember where it was purchased from.
I found the wine a delight, slightly sweet and sparkling, almost perfect for
my palate (which is not an experts palate by any means) and I would dearly
like to purchase some for my self.
Can anyone offer help ?
Jim Rose.
