I left my native city before making experiences with wine and only visit twice a year so I do not have personal experiences with wine stores there. However, have a look at some stores also represented in the net each with a wide range of the famous names: www.frischmarkt-zickuhr.de www.fub-weine.de www.koelner-weinkeller.de www.les-amis-du-vin.de In Bonn (30 km from Cologne) you find www.kinkelstuben.de with a huge range of older vintages, I believe back to the twenties. Since wine shipping is not restricted here and most growers also ship wine directly to the customer (there will be problems with Egon Mueller and JJ Pruem) you might save money buying (mostly recent vintages) from them. You will find phone numbers, e.g., in the Wein Plus wineguide. However, you have to wait some days (sometimes more) for shipping time. Best Jochen Mueller |
