For your information I am currently working on my website Wines from Germany where we will be offering a selection of good wines (Riesling, Sylvaner, Graue Burgunder, Schwarzriesling etc.) graded according to German law (Kabinet, Spätlese, Auslese etc. I have some contacts in the Mosel and Franken areas and we will also offer a selection although not at the same time as the website is published. They will be added as soon as possible. However to give you an idea about Franken wines which, as you know are the wines traditionally botted in the flask shaped bottles likely prices are - Wiesenbronner Wachhügel Silvaner, Kabinet. Dry. 2003. 7.50 euros. Würtburger Stein. Feberrebe, Kabinett. Dry. 2002. 7 euros. Würtzburger Pfaffenberg. Weisser Burgunder (white Burgundy). 2003. Spätlese dry. 12 euros Two problems for US citizens though. (1) Freight charges and the best quotes I can give are 39 euros for up to 10 kilograms and 56 euros for up to 20 kilograms. A case of 12 bottles of wine would cost 56 euros and a half case of 6, 39 euros. (2) Can you order wine over the internet. Americans, unlike Europeans, are basically prohibited as I understand it from doing this as alcohol in the States is only sold through licenced outlet sources (which does not, of course, apply to we Europeans). Do you know what the law says in your state ??? This message was created using the Web-based forum : www.wein-plus.com/forum/ |
