Subject: austrian reds |
i'm a huge fan of austrian reds, but living in the u.s., i find it quite difficult to track them down. austrian whites, on the other hand, are plentiful and easy to find. although i live in new york and have easy access to great wine stores, selection is limited and some of the items that i'm looking for just can't be found (e.g., '00 anton iby cuvee anton, '00 johann heinrich terra o., '00 krutzler perwolff & eichkogel, '00 t-fx-t arachon, '00 gernot heinrich gabarinza, ...). it seems that chicago area retailers have the best austrian red selection, likely due to the fact that the primary austrian red wine importer is vin divino, based in chicago. in fact, most of my austrian red collection has come from chicago-based online retailers. so my questions are: can anybody suggest how i might be able to more successfully source the austrian reds that i want? also, could you please note and describe the austrian reds that you recommend (you may have gathered from the above examples that i like the blends, however, i would also be grateful for single varietal suggestions)? your advice is greatly appreciated! -michael ault This message was created using the Web-based forum : www.wein-plus.com/forum/ |
