| Hi, We can definatly help you with German Wines. The Brauneberger Juffer Aus. '02 is a pretty succulent rich wine with plenty of peach-apricot and citrus fruit, with a bit of flint and mineral on the finish. Youthful with plenty of acidity. Good now but only showing 75% of its potential. Drink 2007-2015. The '02 vintage is a very good vintage. The estate of MAX FERD.RICHTER has been in the ownership of the family for more than 300 years. Today this enterprise is one of the leading producers of top RIESLING-wines in the heart of the central Mosel area with total holdings of 37 acres and an annual production of about 11,500 cases. The steep, totally southerly exposed Brauneberg hill lies alongside the Mosel river left bank from Kesten up to the mouth of the "Lieser" stream, and opposite the two villages Brauneberg and Mülheim. The name "Brauneberg" can be interpreted as a description of the color of the iron-oxide in the slate stone, which gives a very noble flavor and elegant structure of the wines. Some info is from www.maxferdrichter.com, you should take a look. Another Aus. you may want to try is J.J.Prum Wehl.Son. '02. This is one of my favorite Riesling to drink young. The fruit is so ripe it explodes in your mouth, with just the right amount of acidity it will draw you for more. $33.99/btl Joseph ----- Original Message ----- From: <rlmillerbba@aol.com> To: <wineforum@wein-plus.de> Sent: Sunday, May 02, 2004 8:49 AM Subject: [wineforum] German Wines > > have difficulty in finding good german wine selections in my area. > any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. recently did pick up > bottles of 2002 weingut max ferd. richter-brauneberger > juffer-sonnenuhr riesling auslese. can anyone tell me about this > vintage, wine etc? thank you > > This message was created using the Web-based forum : > www.wein-plus.com/forum/ > > |
